Profiles of Our Professional Staff

Full-Time Professional Staff Members

Herbert Jay Rosenfield, ACSW, LCSW, BCD, founded the Adolescent & Family Counseling Center in 1980.  He is a CT Licensed Clinical Social Worker (000187) and has been a CT Certified School Social Worker.  He earned his MSW from Boston University School of Social Work in 1970, with a focus on Groupwork.  Prior to being the Director of the A&FCC, Herb worked in a variety of settings: the YMCA of New Bedford, MA; Boys' Club of Waltham, MA; Jewish Community Centers in Boston, Worcester, and New Haven; and for the Meriden (CT) Public Schools as School Social Worker. 

In the A&FCC practice, Herb sees a broad range of children, teenagers, adults, and families; he has particular focus in work with teenagers, ADHD, survivors of childhood sexual abuse, and hypnotherapy and relaxation.  Rosenfield presents the 2 hour workshop, “Relax … and Live Better” ™, here in the practice and at the on-site facilities of agencies, business, and industry.  A copy of the flyer on “Relax … and Live Better” ™ can be downloaded from our “A&FCC News” page.  Rosenfield is also a partner in Connecticut Mental Health Resources, LLC, providing EAP services to clients across the state of Connecticut.

Intake Coordinator Linda Rosenfield, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (004219).  She has a Bachelor's degree in Education from Boston University.  She taught elementary school for the Wrentham, MA, Public Schools and had been Educational Coordinator of the practice since 1985.  Linda earned her MSW degree from Southern CT State University School of Social Work.  As the practice's Intake Coordinator since 1993, Linda attempts to match potential clients who call the A&FCC practice with the most appropriate clinician - the one who can best provide the needed services at the time the client is available, while utilizing the client's insurance benefit coverage.  Linda's wide caseload includes significant couples' work, ADHD, and grief work.

Kathleen A. Lieberman, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (004517) who began here as a Consultant in 1999 and has joined us full-time in 2001 as a Child and Family Therapist. Kathy earned her MSW from Fordham University School of Social Work. She brings to the A&FCC her extensive experience with Family Counseling of Greater New Haven, Family Services of Burlington County (NJ), and the Lower Naugatuck Valley Parent-Child Resource Center in Shelton. Her clients here are Her clients here are children, teenagesr and their families, and adults. Kathy has extensive experience serving families that have adopted children.

Marty Ernstoff, MEd, MFT, has been a mental-health consultant for the A&FCC since 1993.  A former teacher and certified school psychologist, Marty has two Masters degrees: she received her MEd in School Psychology from John Carroll University in Cleveland and she returned to Southern CT State University to earn her Masters degree in Marriage & Family Therapy. She is a CT Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (000890). She provides the practice with the expertise of her MFT knowledge of family structure and systems.  Marty does therapy with all ages of clients, from preschoolers through adults and she provides "felial directed play therapy" - teaching parents how to play healthily with their children -- as one of her specializations.

Dorothy J. Jackson, ACSW, LCSW, BCD, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (000101) who has been with the practice since 1994.  She has her MSW from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work.  She was the Assistant Director of LNV Parent Child Resource Center in Shelton from 1982 - 1988 and had been the Clinical Director and Program Director of the Waterbury Child Guidance Clinic until October of 2003. Dee now performs valuable child, adolescent and family therapy services for the practice.”

Alcohol & Addictions Therapist, Wendy Sauer, LCSW, CASAC, is the professional mainstay of our Danbury office.  She is a CT Licensed Clinical Social Worker (003662), a New York Certified Social Worker, and certified as an Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor in New York and Connecticut.  She earned her MSW from Adelphi University and worked for the Long Island Jewish Medical Center's Family Treatment Unit prior moving into our practice in 1995.  Wendy works with a broad range of client ages and issues.  Her counseling forte is a wide range of addictions -- alcoholism, drugs, eating disorders, gambling, and sexual addictions.  Wendy can be reached at our A&FCC Danbury office - 203 790-1234.

George H. Meyers, MEd, CAGS,
is a Certified Guidance Counselor, a Certified School Psychologist and Career-Vocational Counselor.  Meyers earned his Master in Education degree from Springfield College and his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) from American International College.  He currently works full time as a Guidance Counselor for Amity High School.  At this practice, Meyers provides a variety of professional services, including Educational-Psychological Assessments,  facilitating groups, and providing parenting workshops and courses.

Cynthia M. Davis, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (003459) who had been employed for 20 years at the CT State Department of Corrections facilities with the UConn School of Medicine’s Correctional Mental Health Unit.  Davis earned her MSW degree from Southern Connecticut State University.  At the A&FCC since 2000, Ms. Davis provides therapy services as our Adolescent and Adult Therapist.  In 2003, she is also initiating a program she has developed, “Understanding Sexual Victimization”, a 6-8 week educational-healing series of presentations.

A Licensed Professional Counselor (#000169), Lynn M. Krieg, MS, LPC, has begun here in 2002 as our Psychotherapist and Medical Counselor.  Krieg is a long-term Cheshire resident and she is employed full-time as a Psychologist at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford.  A recipient of her MS in Psychology degree from Southern Connecticut State University, she is providing psychotherapy and training workshops here at the A&FCC.  Beginning in January, Ms. Krieg will being providing Q.U.I.T.Ô, the practice’s program, “Quit Unwanted Intake of Tobacco”Ô.  A copy of the brochure on Q.U.I.T. In our A&FCC Danbury and Cheshire offices, Bryon T. Remo, MEd, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#001109). He has joined the practice in 2005 after successful years in Massachusetts as a Special Education teacher and a Clinician in Greater Boston area agencies. Bryon earned his MEd in Counseling Psychology from Cambridge College, specializing in marriage and family therapy. . In Danbury, Remo is providing individual, family, and group therapy as our “Child, Adolescent, & Family Therapist”. He will be doing workshops such as “From RAGE to Reason” ™ and ”Relax … and Live Better!” ™ for teenagers and separately for adults and introducing parenting courses and ADHD workshops. Bryon Remo now is also providing his MFT skills to help client-families at our Cheshire office.

Pam Goldin earned her BA in Psychology from Oberlin College and her Master in Social Work from the University of Michigan. She brings to the practice her 24 years Clinical Social Worker at the Meriden Child Guidance Clinic, where she continues to provide her clinical expertise and concern. She has also been a member of the Adjunct Faculty for Fordham University and for Southern CT State University, supervising 2nd year MSW students in their field work experience, and as a Clinical Social Worker for the Holyoke-Chicopee Mental Health Center.

For the A&FCC, Goldin is working with families to be more successful in their interactions and relationships and providing therapy for adult clients.
