About the Adolescent & Family Counseling Center

The Adolescent & Family Counseling Center is a multi-disciplinary outpatient private practice. Founded in 1980 by our Director, Herbert Jay Rosenfield, the Center has its primary location in Cheshire, CT, and an office in Danbury. Our Cheshire office is in the Republic Building, 350 South Main Street, Cheshire; our Danbury office is at 72 North Street – Suite 205, Danbury

With the mission, “Helping You Solve Life’s Problems” ™, the A&FCC has offered clients the professional skills, experience, and concern of Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Marriage & Family Therapists, Licensed Professional Counselors, Certified Guidance Counselors, and Teachers.

The A&FCC helps clients and their families through counseling, groups, courses, workshops, programs, and presentations. We also provide Employee Assistance Programs through Connecticut Mental Health Resources, LLC and the through he EAP service division of many major Insurance Panels. 

Beginning in 2011, A&FCC now offers F.I.T. Therapy ™ – our Face-to-face Internet Technology Therapy ™ , secure audio-video therapy over the Internet.   F.I.T. Therapy ™  may meet the needs of a potential client who travels extensively, who is in the military and deployed, who is located at a great distance from our Cheshire office, who is a public or political figure, or who is employed in agencies or corporations where 'being in counseling' would damage your career.

The Adolescent & Family Counseling Center offers therapeutic care and other services including health, mental health and educational services, through individual, adolescents, couples, family and group psychotherapy, by performing assessments and evaluations, and by offering presentations and workshops in psychotherapy, educational assessemnts, substance abuse, addictions, stress, grief, children, divorce, sexual depression, anxiety, attention deficit, hyperactivity, ADHD, EAP, parenting, private practice, insurance, panels. Our staff consists of family counselors, psychotherapists, individual and marriage counseling, child counseling, LCSW, PsyD, LMFT, LPC, social worker, psychologist, psychiatrist, MD, MSW in the Cheshire, Meriden, Wallingford, Southington, Danbury and other areas.
